Taught me how differently men and women handle grief and loss and at the same time how similar we all navigate through it. Dealing and coping with grief are explained while eac individual is different in expressing it their is an overall feeling that encompasses everyone who has experienced loss. This book will help you navigate through your feelings.

Rest is exactly what I need. Rest in the arms of Jesus, that is. I'm coming off a long-suffering assignment that God placed on my shoulders. I trust God, and I still need to be under his care and meditate on his word. He is my refuge, and on days when I feel anxiety rearing its ugly head, I need to hear his voice. Chapter 4 expresses my sentiments exactly. "The Psalms do not promise the absence of threat. They promise the presence of a Shepherd who walks through the valley of the shadow of death with His people..." This is a good read, much needed, the perfect guide. The book is the blessed rest. Highly recommended!!!

This is such a powerful devotional. It is not fluff, it is serious spiritual formation that we could all use. I appreciated that the chapters include action items, scripture memorization and discussion points to help integrate the insights.

I have a friend who lost his spouse 3 years ago. I landed on this one by browsing the internet. I bought it several weeks ago for him. I was able to actually download a copy and took the time to read it. What men go through is the need to always be strong. I believe this will help men in general get to a place of peace. It will also help them to grieve properly. I recommend it to any man struggling with the loss of a spouse.

I bought this book for my husband after he lost his mom. It was really hard watching him go through that kind of pain, and I wanted to find something that might help when I couldn’t always find the right words. This book was thoughtful, easy to read, and didn’t make grief seem like something he needed to “get over.” It gave him a healthy way to work through his feelings and reminded him that it’s okay to take things one day at a time. I’m so glad I found this book, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful gift for a husband or loved one who’s grieving the loss of their mom.

Good short daily devotional to open up one’s prayer or quiet time. It is broken up my month so you can easily start anytime. Unique that it gives both an Old Testament passage of scripture and relevant ones from the New Testament to show how all of scripture is related. New and old Christian’s will find the prayers/devotional beneficial in their walk with God.
